- 300 g cooked and drained chickpeas
- 2 tsp cinnamon (optional: cardamom powder)
- 140 g dark chocolate (at least 72% cocoa content)
- Preparing the Chickpeas:
- First, place the cooked and drained chickpeas in a bowl.
- Add the cinnamon and optional cardamom powder, mixing well to coat the chickpeas evenly.
- Roasting the Chickpeas:
- Place the seasoned chickpeas in the air fryer at 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can bake them in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 25 minutes until they are nicely crispy.
- Melting the Chocolate:
- While the chickpeas are roasting, melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave (oven). Be careful not to overheat the chocolate to keep it smooth and shiny.
- Coating the Chickpeas with Chocolate:
- Take the roasted chickpeas out of the air fryer or oven and let them cool slightly.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the chickpeas and use a spatula to spread it evenly, ensuring all the chickpeas are well coated with chocolate.
- Letting it Cool:
- Place the chocolate-coated chickpeas in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
- Enjoying:
- After cooling, break the chocolate-covered chickpeas into pieces and enjoy. This high-protein chocolate is a perfect snack and a great way to increase your protein intake.
- You can store it in your freezer or fridge.
