Ingredients
  • 200 g ground nuts (e.g. almonds, hazelnuts)
  • 60 g (birch) powdered sugar
  • 1 tbs cinnamon
  • 3-4 tbs orange juice
  • zest of ½ organic orange
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Glaze:
  • 6 tbs (birch) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp orange juice or lemon juice
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients for the cinnamon stars in a bowl and knead into a dough.
  2. If the dough is a little too wet, add more nuts if necessary. Let dough rest in the fridge for about 1 hour.
  3. Take the dough out and preheat the oven to 220 degrees top and bottom heat.
  4. Roll out dough between two layers of baking paper or on some gluten-free flour to 1 cm thickness. Cut out stars and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  5. Bake cinnamon stars in the center of the oven for about 6-7 minutes, depending on size.
  6. Cinnamon stars will still be slightly soft when removed. Let cinnamon stars cool briefly on a wire rack.
  7. For the glaze, mix all ingredients together to make a thick glaze. Brush the cinnamon stars with it.
