Although February is the shortest month of the year, it seemed really long to me. That’s probably simply because so much has happened: my boyfriend and I are looking for a new apartment, I’ve signed up for my online studies as a nutritionist and I’ve started producing videos for Youtube. Last but not least I can proudly announce that I’ve started a new book project and, I’ve got a few more projects in the pipeline. Because being a busy bee all the time, my list of favorites in February 2019 is pretty functionally oriented.

1. ORANGES
Let’s start with something that is part of my everyday life. Things we are blessed to enjoy every day deserve full appreciation, don’t you think so? That’s why I am talking about oranges, my absolute favorite fruit in the cold season. Even though this February 2019 we are blessed with a lot of sun, it is always important to keep an eye on your vitamin balance. I am sure that the vitamin C boost of my daily portion of oranges makes a significant contribution to the fact that I have never really been ill in the last few years. I can snack oranges every day and always have to have enough oranges in stock. However, my back and neck have always complained about the hard work carrying them around, as have my pockets. That’s why I’ve become the lucky owner of a monthly subscription box. My source of orange colored happiness now comes to me on its own. The fruits are organic and are delivered to me by Mammarancia (the mamas of the oranges or something like that…) directly from the Sicilian hills in only 24 hours after the harvest.
2. SUSTAINABILITY WITH STYLE
Besides oranges I have another great fondness: I’ll give you two hints. It does have an orange color as well and is as good for your body as the vitamin-packed oranges! Can you guess what it is? Yes, you’re right, it’s turmeric. If you do watch my stories regularly, you might already know my personal turmeric story. For quite some time I always left the house with a very special morning make-up. I was looking like a yellow emoji…That was simply because I was drinking my turmeric latte in a glass cup and the intensive yellow color wrapped up my mouth with an even wider grin on my face. That was especially funny for others, cause nobody thought it necessary to point this out to me 😉
But then Gefu brought the solution in the form of black glass straws. The cool thing is that they are not only a sustainable alternative to plastic straws but also they are resistant to the intense color of yellow turmeric. I immediately fell in love and have been using them for my smoothies ever since.
3. NEO NOTES*
Do you rather prefer to write on paper or on your laptop? Even if paper is not the best zero waste option, I’ve to admit that I definitely am part of team paper. My creativity feels kind of limited in front of a screen. For example, I wrote this article on paper first and then retyped it on my laptop. Of course, this always takes a while and is, in general, more effort, but the outcome is much better. That’s why I was totally thrilled when I heard about paper notebooks aka Neo Notes. It’s super cool, cause you start writing on paper, but at the same time everything is transferred automatically to your laptop. Really an incredible invention! I’ve only tested the program at my friend’s place, but that’s going to change very soon. I just couldn’t decide yet 😉
Do you have any favorites in February 2019? If so, please share it with me and the community. Maybe it will be my one of my next favorites too :).
