Plant-Based Food Guide
I’m so overwhelmed by all these plant-based places in Santa Monica and Venice that I’d recommend everyone coming here. And the food is not the only reason! But honestly, healthy eating outside has never been so easy for me than here in Los Angeles.
In Santa Monica and Venice Beach are so many options that you’ll definitely find good places but these following are definitely a visit worth.
Say hello to my favorite plant-based joints:
Thai Vegan – fresh and authentic
If you are looking for a cheap vegan spot I’d recommend going to Thai Vegan. It’s family-run, and super favorable to eat amazing, delicious, and healthy vegan food. My three favourite DISHES are:
- Papaya Salad, $7
- Pad Thai, $8
- Summer Rolls, $7
AAAnd don’t forget to get a fresh coconut to sip on!
It also offers take-out and delivery service.
Flower Child – Healthy Food for a Happy World
Flower Child offers gluten-free, raw-VEGAN items. All their produce is locally sourced and is organic. They offer salads, mix ‘n’ match dishes, bowls and wraps. I tried several dishes and loved them all. My absolute favorites were the Thai Cashew Quinoa bowl and the wholegrain Thai Dye Wraps. Their on the go Bowls, are perfect if you are feeling like having a snack at the beach, which is just steps away.
- Salads, about $9
- Bowls, about $10
- Wraps, $10-$13
Kreation Organic Kafe & Juicery – Peace. Love. Juice
This place is a Santa Monica Certified Green Business with Juices made from Farmer’s Market and certified local, organic fruits and vegetables! It is famous for it’s healthy and delicious drinks and juices, but you can find everything else too, like wraps, bowls, avocado toasts. Their vegan burritos are popular amongst vegans and meat-eaters. Tried the monterrubio borrito ($12). Was soo good!
My number 1 recommended it is the cinnamon, apple, coconut BLISS ($10). One taste, and you never want it to end. Another must try is their almond mylk! I LOOOVED IT.
Another unique thing they do is that they add a few drops of chlorophyll to your water!
They also just launched a new raw Burger. Which tastes amazing! If you like raw food or up for trying something new, I highly recommend this Burger ($13 Dollars). DELICIOIS.
Plant Food + Wine – MATTHEWKENNEY – crafting the future of food
The Matthew Kenney Cuisine offers minimally processed, lots of raw food in several restaurants, one being Plant Food and Wine in Venice. It’s a bit more expensive but worth it since it’s an integrated, California-based lifestyle company with organic and lots of self-grown produce. The food is beautiful, vibrant and nutritious. I loved the Black Bean Bowl which isn’t that fatty ($16). The Wild Mushroom sandwich was super delicious too, but also a bit more fatty since it’s with Truffle Aioli.
We had the Brunch Card:
- Entrées about $10-$14
- Mains about $14-$16
- Desserts about $8-$14
Beaming Organic Superfood Cafe – Pure. Organic. Joy.
Beaming is a little organic cute Cafe and soo worth visiting. I wrote about this place already here. Went there six times and tried a lotof items. I had the best Acai Bowl with super tasty granola ($11), my favorite Shiitake Veggie Kelp Noddle Salad to go ($10) a delicious and amaaazing Falafel Collard Wraps ($10), and so many other dishes. They always offer samples <3.
This place is known for it’s fantastic Acai Bowls, and if you’ve never had an Acai Bowl served in a Coconut, you should get this :).
Tocaya Organica – Modern Organic Mexican
If you like Mexican Food, you should check out Tocaya Organica. The Ingredients are all organic and sourced from sustainable environments. Tocaya Organica offers salads, tacos, bowls, burritos and wraps from a full separate vegan menu. Since it was already dark I couldn’t take any pictures. But I loved the Tacos and the Tamale.
I hope you enjoyed the plant-based Food Guide and would love to hear you favourite spots. Feel free to add them in the comments so the list can be updated.
