Recently, I made an amazing sushi burger. There was only one problem, to eat the burger in a, let’s say sociable way :). So I’ll start with a simpler recipe which is always a go when you’re having company :). The grilled and exotic rice-lentil burger. It tastes amazing and is high-carb low fat since you roast it. The dates and exotic spices are essential for the yummy and exotic flavour.
- Bread buns
- 4 peaces
Patties- 100g sticky rice, cooked
- 100g green lentils, cooked
- 3 Medjool dates, chopped
- ½ tsp Ras el-Hanout
- ½ tsp Harissa
- 1 tsp mustard
- Parsley, chopped
- Spring onions, sliced
- 2-3 tbsp corn crumbs
- salt
Veggies- 4 salad leaves
- 1 tomato, cut in slices
- ½ courgette, cut in slices
- 2 carrots, cut in slices
- oregano, salt and pepper
Dip- ½ avocado
- ½ small courgette
- Juice of one lemon
- 1 Medjool date
- Optional: 60g plant yoghurt
- Salt, pepper
- For the patties:
- In a large bowl, combine all ingredients for your patties and knead to a dough
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed
- Cover a plate or your work space with half of the corn crumbs
- Divide dough into equal portions and shape into four thick patties with your hands
- Place the patties on the corn crumbs and cover with your leftovers
- Grill patties 5-8 minutes on each side until crispy and golden
- For the veggies
- Roast your veggies with oregano, salt and pepper
- For the dip
- Blend all ingredients until creamy
- Patties
- Cut buns in half and toast on grill
- Serve
- Serve patties on toasted buns with salad, sliced tomato, dip and desired toppings
- Variation:
- If you don’t like using bread buns, you can simply take your patties instead bread and fill them with even more veggies
I hope you like these burgers as much as I do. If you make them, please let me know what you think by leaving a comment below or by taking a photo, uploading it to Instagram or Facebook and tagging me.
